Leads in 24 Hours: How SWATS Made Red 7's Website the Backbone of Its Business

By Elizabeth AdamsCo-Founder & Chief Growth Officer, SWATS5 min read

In B2B, a website rarely closes the deal. But it often decides who gets the meeting. That is what Red 7 Telecomunicaciones found out when they switched to SWATS. Online, they had been practically invisible. Within 24 hours of the switch, new leads started coming in, so many that their CEO, Francisco Turner, thought it was a programming error.

Who is Red 7?

Red 7 Telecomunicaciones started in 2011 with a single 150 Mbps connection. Today it is a telecommunications group that provides dedicated business internet, fiber, carrier-class network services, cloud services, and symmetric home internet to more than 400 companies in 16 cities across Mexico and the United States. Its network runs on 45 nodes, connects with more than 10 world-class providers, and includes a legal data crossing on the US-Mexico border, something few providers in the region can offer.

Their own tagline says it best: networking, simplified. Red 7 sells to businesses, carriers, and internet providers, which means every sale starts with a conversation between people who need to trust each other.

Practically dead online

Red 7 had the network, the customers, and the track record. What it did not have was a website that showed any of that. Online, as Francisco put it, they had been practically dead. Whatever interest was out there was not turning into conversations.

For a company that grows one business relationship at a time, that is a lot of missed meetings.

What we changed

We set out to build a website that works as hard as Red 7's network does: easy to find, easy to trust, and easy to act on.

Built to be found. The new site follows the SWATS Standard, so search engines and AI assistants can clearly understand what Red 7 offers, where its network reaches, and who it serves, in both Spanish and English.

Built for B2B buyers. Each line of business has its own clear page, from carrier services to enterprise networks and cloud. An interactive coverage map shows every city the network reaches on both sides of the border, and the certifications behind the service are right there for a buyer doing their homework.

Built to start conversations. Sales, support, and immediate assistance each have their own direct line, with WhatsApp and a contact form close at hand. A prospect who is ready to talk never has to hunt for how.

Updated by email. No dashboards and no logins. When Red 7 wants to change something, they email us in plain words, we send back a private preview, and one reply publishes it.

The first 24 hours

Results usually take time to build. This one showed up the next day. Francisco described it this way:

No exaggeration: 24 hours after we switched to SWATS, the leads started coming in. So many that I thought it was a programming error, because online we had been practically dead.

Nothing about Red 7's business changed overnight. The network, the people, and the service were the same. What changed was that the people already looking for them could finally find them, understand them, and get in touch.

The backbone of the business

The leads were the headline. The bigger shift was in how Red 7 thinks about its website.

This experience changed our mindset. In a B2B sales motion every opportunity to meet a prospect counts. A lot of companies think a website isn't that relevant anymore; we realized it's the opposite. It's the backbone of the whole business. It's where people look for information, see who you work with, and get in touch.

I often hear the opposite view: buyers live on LinkedIn now, deals happen through referrals, nobody reads websites anymore. Francisco's experience says otherwise. The referral, the post, and the event all send people to the same place, and that place has to answer their questions and earn the meeting.

AI as a complement

Red 7 is a technology company, and Francisco is clear-eyed about AI. It is not a replacement for a strong website. It works alongside one.

You have to ride the AI wave, but as a complement: social media, your website, and AI working together to get more traction and get known. And with our digital footprint, we have to lead by example.

That is exactly how we see it too. AI assistants are becoming one more way buyers discover companies, and they lean on clear, well-structured websites to decide who to recommend. If you want to know why some sites show up in those answers and others do not, start with why ChatGPT can't find your website.

Why this work matters to us

Red 7 already had what matters most: a real network, real customers, and fifteen years of doing the work. The website just was not telling that story. Seeing it go from practically dead to a source of new conversations in a single day is the clearest proof we know that a Smart Website is not a brochure. It is part of how a business grows.
